Coach Melvin Malone's boxing expertise stems from 10 years as an amateur boxer and nearly 30 years as a coach. He is currently a USA certified coach and official. Educationally, he served a brief term in the United States Navy where he received training as an electronic technician. He holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Coach Malone is also a certified teacher through the Texas State Board of Educators and teaches for Houston Independent School District.
